Football season 2016/17 is over, and as always we're bringing you new Football Manager 2018 new features wishlist thread! This thread is your chance to have your opinion heard by the Sports Interactive crew.
We can expect Football Manager 2018 to come out sometime in November, same as every year, but until then we can cast some of our opinions and thoughts on what we would like to see in the new edition of our favourite footy game.
This is your chance to throw any thoughts you might have on how to improve the next version of the game.
So tell us, and we'll pass on the word to the SI board. How can Sports Interactive improve FM 2018 to be even better than FM 2017? Which new features would you like? What areas of the game need improving?
We'll regularly update this thread by adding ideas that we think are the best and the ones that get the most likes in our comments section.
And do remember if you suggest an idea and it doesn't appear in the next version of Football Manager that doesn't mean it never will.
So start brainstorming, let your voice be heard! Let's make Football Manager 2018 the best one ever!

- Just to clarify a few things mind, at no point will Sports Interactive ever allow managers to spend their wages/invest into the club so I wouldn't suggest that one.
Football Manager 2018 New Features Requests
Tevo Christmann - More Tactical Options
More important than anything else is having more tactical options and introducing a more interesting training platform. I want to be able to implement certain football styles and give certain instructions to my players that simply don't exist in the game right now
Colin Crowder - Sort Out Transfer Fees
Definitely need to sort out the transfer fees. Sick of only getting $5m for a 1st team player valued at $25m+ but then getting asked $100m for some game gen 15 year old.
Richard Loudon - Unexpected Offer For a Player
If you get an unexpected offer for a player, there should be some way of finding out his opinion on it before accepting/declining.
Robbie Grieve - Various New Features
The ability for a striker to go around the keeper in a 1-on-1, rather than just shooting all the time.
More variety and dynamic consequences within the media engagement and player communication scenarios.
Better collaboration with assistant manager.
Change strips each season like real life.
Allow conversation with players during contract offers, i.e. Your demands are excessive and we can't afford your wages etc.
More variation in outcomes during conversations with players re playing time / performance that doesn't just end up with them being in the huff and wanting to move.
Kristoffer Kärvegård - More Realistic Newgane Names
More realistic names for the youth intake . A 16 year old that popped up for me at Dulwich Hamlet name was Andy Clarke. No 16 year old south London lad has that name.
Tairu Abdulmateen - New Central Defender Role
The Forcer, he forces the strikers to a bad position forcing them to play a back pass shoot off target. Example is Gerard Pique. They hardly make tackles. They don't rush to strikers, rather slow them down for other defenders to come. They are very difficult to beat.
Þór Símon - Press conferences should have way more options
If you're gonna have them in the game you might as well do it well. Five options is not enough to make it interesting instead of repetitive, which it is now.
Derek Cheong - More life like scenario
Unhappy player bust up with team mates or manager. Red carded player bust up with referee or opponents. Bust up during training. Players sold or left on free transfer gets booed when they return to play against club or they celebrate and incite hate against rival fans. Options for managers to protest against referee during match or half time if a player gets red carded or foul. Managers get send off.
Tomek Wilk - Improved 3D match engine
The most important change for me would be to increase the amount of animation in 3D match engine. General artificiality of currently existing engine makes it impossible to watch, so I'm still using 2D engine. Even though I love it, we have 2017 and step forward is highly-anticipated. What to improve? Basic dribbling tricks, in FM2017 it always look like one player is racing against other one. Body movement, saves and parades performed by goalkeepers. One on one situations, which, as someone already said always end up with a shot. Maybe some cute pass animations by the most skilled midfielders?
Thanasis Georgianos - Get notified whilst on holiday
When you are on holiday and a player wants to talk to you about what concerns him, an option should exist for you to return from your holiday and talk to him. Because as it is you can't talk to them and they become unhappy.
Vincent Bastiaans - Manager "trademarks"
The game recognise that I answer calmly during every interview or interaction with media. Good. I also predominantly buy young talented players, use a (rather) big selection, often use youth players in cup matches and train my own youth. My board recognises for 4 seasons in a row, that I buy these talented youngsters and use youth players. However, it does not appear in my manager profile. Perhaps an idea that manager gain and lose trademarks in their profile. Just to be more complete. Trademarks could also be used for (not) getting the job at certain clubs.
Lee Tennant - Warning your staff
Being able to warn coaches of your under 18's/21(23 now) if they haven't followed your instructions on playing time, mainly for players coming back from injury.
Keith Batcheltor - Manually picking the year you want to start
How about an option that lets you change the year you start your first season in.
