First let me clarify who are wonderkid players. Wonderkid is a player that's under the age of 20 or 20 years old. They have a solid current ability and a high potential ability which can vary from 150 to 200 or in negative numbers where their potential ability will be randomly set for them by the game itself.

-9 potential ability means player will be given PA in a range from 150 to 180, whilst a -10 potential ability means player will be a true world class once he develops properly and will be given a PA from 180 - 200.

Every wonderkid in FM16 has a potential to become a world class player with the right guidance. By this I mean if you give him regular first team football either by sending him on a loan or playing him in your own team. Proper training and coaching staff is a must in order to develop any player labelled wonderkid into a world class player.
