Managed by Andries Ulderink, Jong Ajax arguably have the most the most talent in the Jupiler League. Despite only finishing 10th in the league in 2014-15, the players in the squad possess fantastic potential. Similar to the under 19's squad, keeping hold of the players is difficult as they feel, even at their young age, they have outgrown the club and deserve better opportunities at bigger teams. Another big factor in not being able to hold onto the players, is the stature of the Eredivisie and Jupiler League, not being big enough for these players to progress their career.
What makes the ajax youth system exceptionally talented is the backroom staff. They have staff such as Wim Jonk who is the the head of youth development, they also have the Manchester United legend Jaap Stam as their assistant manager. Both of them have an incredible amount of experience in their playing career and enforce high levels of discipline to keep the youngsters in check.
Name- Vaclav Cerny
D.O.B- 17/10/1997, 17 Years Old
Nationality- Czech
Position- Attacking Midfielder (Right, Left)
Transfer Value- £200k
Can Be Obtained For- Around £9 Million
When I started a career save with Ajax, Vaclav Cerny was the only player on this list that I used in the first team. He ended his first season playing 27 games with 5 assists, scoring 7 times and with an average rating of 7.25. Those statistics are incredible for a 17 year old in a debut season. What makes Cerny really stand out as a player worth buying is not just his potential but his ability to speak 5 different languages, he can speak basic, Czech, Dutch, English, Slovak and German. For a player who has only played in two different countries in his career, this is an exceptional trait to have, and if he were ever to move to a new club internationally, this trait would serve him well.
Name- Donny van de Beek
D.O.B- 18/4/1997, 18 Years Old
Nationality- Dutch
Position- Defensive Midfielder, Midfielder (Centre)
Transfer Value- £135k
Can Be Obtained For- Around £10 Million
£10 million to obtain him may seem hefty for someone who can only reach 4 star potential, however van de Beek proves himself to be much better than that. After the first season, 9 times out of 10 he ends up going to a major club in the English Premier League which shows this young man is a real contender, the lack potential shown by van de Beek at the start of the game is inaccurate.
Name- Abdelhak Nouri
D.O.B- 2/4/1997, 18 Years Old
Nationality- Dutch
Position- Midfielder/Attacking Midfielder (Centre)
Transfer Value- £145k
Can Be Obtained For- Around £10 Million
Whether you start a save with Ajax or someone else, Nouri is constantly being scouted by Arsenal which just shows how much talent he possesses. The young man carries potential in abundance and also can also play several different positions which makes him unique. £10 million may seem pricey but is most certainly worth the money paid to acquire his services as he progresses into a world class player.
It also states in-game that Nouri would benefit from being tutored by senior squad member Lasse Schone. This is something should seriously be considered to enhance the player's development.
Name- Lucas Andersen
D.O.B- 13/9/1994, 20 Years Old
Nationality- Danish
Position- Midfielder/Attacking Midfielder (Centre)
Transfer Value- £1.3m
Can Be Obtained For- Around £5 Million
A player with copious amounts of potential, ambition and versatility. These qualities will help to transform Anderson into a world class player. He was signed by Ajax for 1.1 million from AaB in the 2012-13 season and for the talent you receive, it's an excellent piece of business from them. The way forward for this player is continue his progressing by letting him stay out on loan for a couple of seasons to let him gain valuable first team experience.
Name- Richairo Zivkovic
D.O.B- 5/9/1996, 18 Years Old
Nationality- Dutch
Position- Striker (Centre)
Transfer Value- £925k
Can Be Obtained For- Around £6 Million
This man has everything you need from a striker, he can finish, he can header, he's quick and has flair. All of these components make him the ideal complete forward for your squad. If you were to start with Ajax, it is almost impossible to keep him. Big clubs come and bid for him making him feel unsettled and regardless of any persuasion you offer him, he will not want to stay, therefore you are forced to sell him so that he doesn't disharmonize the rest of the team. What's also admiral about Zivkovic is he has a professional attitude to the game which is not always the case with young players at his level.
Part 3 coming soon.
