I had a ridiculous first season with this counter-tactic playing Tottenham and figured it would be worth sharing it. I only used this one tactic the whole season, and it seems to be strong against any opposition.
The tactic really brings the best out of your striker, so it is vital that you have a capable striker all-around striker. Also, your fullbacks play a very important role, so you want them to be competent in the attack. I believe this tactic could work for most sides in top leagues.
Throughout the season my defence proved to be incredibly strong, and I only lost 1 game in the premier league.
I have no universal opposition instructions and deal with them game by game. For training, I let my assistant deal with the general training, and I assign individual training for my players.
