Football Manager 2017 hidden gems are players that are relatively unknown but are suitable for any team in FM17. Best thing is that they are really cheap even thou they can be promising youngsters or even already established first team players.
Once again I turn to the Football Manager community and asked them have they found any players in FM 2017 who they considered to be a hidden gem, and sure enough, the community once again replied with great suggestions to my query.
More than fifty players were suggested, but I decided to present to you 19 of the relatively unknown players I think are the best. As I expected most of them are promising youngsters from the South American continent, but there are also a few European players I really liked and who had to end up on this list.
Some of them you can find on the Football Manager 2017 Wonderkids list, and some of them can be found on the bargains list in FM17.
Let's go straight to the top 19 hidden diamonds in Football Manager 2017, I've sorted them by scouting recommendation from lowest to the highest.
Marcus Pedersen / Team: Strømsgodset / Est. Cost: £156k / Position: ST
Marcus Pedersen is a name mainly known to those with a strong interest in Norewigan football. He would be a decent signing for most Championship sides according to his current ability.

Fredrik Haugen is yet another rather unknown player from Norwegian league. He has potential to be good Championship player in the future.
PROS: Low wage demands. Versatility - is natural in couple of positions. Balanced and normal personality. Adaptability. Enjoys big matches. Ability to strike ball from distance makes this player a constant threat for opposition.
CONS: Poor heading ability means he's never likely to be useful in aerial situations. Marking. Has a competitive streak.
Liam Mandeville / Team: Doncaster / Est. Cost: £192k / Position: AM/F C
Liam Mandeville is an youngster with lot of potential and a plenty of time to develop ahead of him. With a low estimated cost he should be your prime candidate for a transfer if you are in a hunt for a striker.
PROS: Eligibility, players counts towards players who trained in England for three years. Ability to strike a ball sweetly makes him a good finisher. Good technique especially when striking a football. Can play in a couple of positions.
CONS: Current ability makes him very well-suited to League 1 football. Most he could develop in the future is to be a Championship striker. Could do with being taught how to be ab effective aerial presence. Has some improvements to make in his physical strength.
Alex Gersbach / Team: Rosenborg BK / Est. Cost: £261k / Position: D/WB L
Alex Gersbach is a name mainly known in Australia. His current ability makes him very well-suited to League 1 football.
PROS: Displays resolute characteristics. Overall top speed. Potential to be a Premier League left-back in the future. Fairly adaptable when it comes to living in another country. Fairly consistent performer. Can play in a couple of positions. Is a current international.
CONS: Is very one-footed. Could do with being taught how to be an effective aerial presence. Has work to do in the heading department.

When you are only 16-year-old and clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid are already interested in a transfer it can only mean that we have a world-class player in the making on our hands. And the price of 37K is peanuts to what you could get for this player once he reaches his prime.

Ezequiel Barco / Team: Independiente / Est. Cost: £5.69m / Position: AM RLC
Ezequiel Barco is one player that was mentioned by far the most members of the Football Manager 2017 community, and for a fair reason as this young attacking midfielder from Argentina becomes one of the world-class midfield playmakers in the game.
PROS: Could adapt well to living in another country, so sending him on a loan to some Spanish's club in order to gain EU citizenship is a good thing.
