There is no fun in FM20 if it's not challenging. There are so many clubs that have lost its path over the years, but these are the few clubs that come to my head when I think of the past powerhouse clubs.
Let's take a look at a list of a fallen giants you could do a challenge with in FM20.Taking back your club from the lower division to the top of the world, back to the glory days is an intriguing as well as challenging experience. Few solid FM years will have you right there.
Over the years football has changed a lot, evolved actually, it has evolved so beautifully that every decision has a huge impact. So, you can be a hero or a joke to your club depending on the decisions you make.
Few big clubs have failed to retain their spot at the top, having failed to cope up with the evolution of play. Now it's your time to take your club to the top. Shape up the club top to bottom become a legend, possibly emulate Sir Alex Ferguson.
You can choose any club and have the success you want, I do have a few suggestions for people looking for inspiration.
Portsmouth
Portsmouth a few years back were playing Europa League and winning FA Cups, are now playing Tier 3 football. Bankruptcy hit the club hard. Portsmouth should be a difficult challenge for beginners, but over time and effort, you'll have a lot of learnings.

Leeds United
Leeds United is rich in history club. They came so close to promotion in the 18/19 season. Which speaks of the calibre of the players in the club. This one should be an interesting challenge.

Few Noteworthy Prospects: Mallik Wilks (20)
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest are currently playing second division football. Forty years back they won the European Champions Cup (UCL) back to back. Your task, take Forest back to UCL contention.

Newcastle, they're currently in the relegation zone, building a title-winning team should be an enjoyable ride.

Sheffield FC is the oldest football club in the world, they have had some success in the past but rebuilding and wining with the oldest club sure does mean a lot. And a good thing Sheffield plays in the Top Division, so they have what it takes.

Aston Villa is one of the few English Clubs to have won the UCL (European Champions Cup), they recently were promoted too, Managers who start with Villa should have a little boost compared to the other clubs in terms of the present status of the club.

Milan Clubs
Both AC Milan and Inter Milan have had setbacks in recent years merely living in the shadows of their past glory. It shouldn't be a difficult challenge but a satisfying one for the fans.
Both the Milan clubs have reputed players and good youth prospects.
