Trent Alexander-Arnold - Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool is arguably the division’s best right back at the time of writing. The 21-year-old has starred for Jurgen Klopp’s side since making the breakthrough after coming through the Anfield ranks and is seen as one of world football’s brightest prospects. TAA will undoubtedly be one of the top right-backs on FM20, with the potential to go on and become world class. And with the club now seen as odds on favourites by near enough all UK online betting operators; anyone interested in acquiring his services in the future, will probably need a substantial amount of money to get him out of Liverpool, his hometown club.
Max Aarons – Norwich City
Max Aarons is enjoying a debut season in the Premier League with Norwich City, after working his way through their youth setup over the last couple of seasons. The London born right-back is tipped for stardom at both club and international level and was a highly sought after wonder kid on FM19. As he plays for Norwich, he will be easier to sign than TAA, but will still cost a pretty penny no doubt. Again, his age is crucial, with many years to progress for the 19-year-old.
Tyrone Mings – Aston Villa
When Tyrone Mings first stepped up into the Premier League, things didn’t quite work out for him. However, after dropping down into the Championship and earning promotion with Villa last season, the 26-year-old made his move to Villa Park permanent and is now looking the part at centre half. The 6’5” defender is getting better with each game and will be a great addition to most squads on FM20. Mings has already received an England cap this season, so you can expect his stats to be solid when the game releases.
Ben Godfrey – Norwich City
Ben Godfrey isn’t the first Norwich player to make our list, and he won’t be the last. Norwich are well stocked when it comes to good young players, so it could be an exciting challenge taking the hot seat and helping the players to realise their potential. At 21, Godfrey is more than holding his own as a Premier League centre back, and there’s a lot of room for further growth also.

Ben Chilwell – Leicester City
Everyone knows how good Ben Chilwell is, especially FM players, but this season in the Premier League the Bedford born star has come on leaps and bounds. He’s right up there with Andy Robertson as the best left-backs in the league, and this could be the season where he establishes himself as one of the best in the world too. The 22-year-old is a reliable option on FM19, and we think he will be even better in FM20, and could even possibly outshine the likes of Robertson over the long term.
Jamal Lewis – Norwich City
We end our list with another Norwich City player, and this time it’s 21-year-old left-back Jamal Lewis. Like Aarons and Godfrey, Lewis is being allowed to flourish with the Canaries in the Premier League and has started all their games so far. He’s likely to be a more affordable option than Chilwell, and who knows, he could go on to be even better in FM20.
