Football Manager Journeyman Challenge is perfect for managers that allure of moving to different leagues and hope to be successful wherever they go.
Ever heard of Rudi Gutendorf? The German manager holds the world record for coaching 55 teams across 32 countries and 5 continents. This challenge is definitely not aimed to emulate his achievements but as a tribute to him.
What is the Football Manager Journeyman Challenge?
The Journeyman Challenge is you managing several teams across several countries in a single managerial career.
The aim is to move to as many clubs/countries as you can and leave a mark at the clubs you managed.
As with every challenge, there are rules to the journeyman challenge. They are,
- You should start your save unemployed
- Your reputation as a player should be Sunday League and you should start with zero coaching badges.
- You cannot use the in-game editor to accentuate your progress
- You should mask the attributes of players, so in case you want to make new signings, you need to scout them thoroughly.
- You cannot stay at a club for a period longer than 2 seasons (ideally 1 season)
As an additional challenge, you can consider your campaign a failure if you do not win a trophy (cup or league) for the side you manage.
If this challenge seems too steep, here are a few tips to make it a bit easier.
- Try to split good points into adaptability; this will make it easier for you to get hired in foreign leagues.
- Always start from home, it is easier to manage teams in your home league and gradually move to other leagues. This way your coaching badge progression will also be good.
- Research and identify sugar daddy clubs in various leagues. Success with these clubs will definitely be easier to achieve.
- Understand the player registration rules of each league. Some leagues may be friendlier towards plenty of foreign players while others may not.
