Whenever there’s a new edition of Football Manager it means the time has come yet again to worry all night about making just the right purchase for your team.

As always, FM2021 is full of amazing young players. If you’re wise and fast enough some of them can be recruited for your team for a very good price. But choosing the right wonderkid is a lot harder and more stressful than it sounds.

In order to help you a bit, we came up with this list of both popular and less known, but very good, young players available for recruitment in the Football Manager 2021 edition.

Players You’ve Already Heard About

Moussa Wague - Barcelona

Wague is just 20 years old which gives him plenty of time to grow and develop. He has the potential to reach up to 180 overall. The rumour has it that Wague has been chased by a number of Premier League clubs. 

He is on the roster for Barcelona and like many others, he doesn't make the first team very often. This means he could be snapped up at a bargain price!

Rodrygo – Real Madrid

This 19-year-old is a bit of a rough diamond at the level he's currently playing, but he is destined to be a superstar. Currently, Rodrygo has a total score of 130, but the estimates are that his overall could improve to be somewhere in the region of 160-190. 

It is hard to imagine a better choice to make than to recruit a player that many expect will be the next big thing if you can afford him that is. In fact, some think he could develop into one of the best players in the world.

Sebastiano Esposito – SPAL (on loan from Inter)

At the age of just 18, Esposito already looks like a top target-man that could soon challenge Erling Haaland and Mason Greenwood as the best striker. Once he becomes available it is unlikely that Inter will let him go for a low price, but nevertheless, be ready to act fast if you want to get him.

After the era of Totti, Del Piero, and Vieri it seems that the time has finally come for Italy to produce another iconic forward.

Erling Haaland - Borussia Dortmund

Another teenager on the list of well-known players. Erling Haaland can only play as a striker given his attributes, but he plays this role superbly well. Being only 19, when you start the game, Haaland could be one of the best choices you could make.

He is able to score a goal from all over the pitch and he can grow to be somewhere between 140-180 overall.

Liberato Cacace - Sint-Truiden

Many Football Manager fans won't know about the exquisitely-named Liberato Cacace. But this New Zealander is already a full international who plays for Belgian Sint-Truiden and is valued at half a million and gets around £6.1K per week. These are good signs that you don't want to wait for too long before signing this 20-year-old.

Cacace is among wonderkids who have the potential to bring the FM’s popularity in New Zealand to a whole new level, one that will parallel online casino NZ.

Nuno Mendes - Sporting

This youngster (18) with the most Portuguese name ever, seems to already be on Liverpool's and Arsenal's radar. Mendes has already played for the Portuguese national team (U16, U17, U18, U19, and U21 level) and has scored his first senior goal for Sporting this season. He wouldn't be the first young star to come out of Sporting.

Andrea Papetti - Brescia

For this next centre-back, we are again in Italy. Andrea Papetti is a regular in the Brescia first-team but you could get him for a decent price in Football Manager 21. You really shouldn't waste any time as this 18-year-old is even available to sign for compensation at the very start of the game. He could easily be lured away from Brescia following the club's relegation last season.

Marash Kumbulla – Roma (on loan from Hellas Verona)

The 20-year-old Italian born Marash Kumbulla is already a senior international with Albania. Currently, he is playing on a loan for Roma – which guarantees that he is good enough for many of the big teams across the top five European leagues. He has plenty of top-flight experience and is still developing.

But depending on how generous the Romans are feeling, you would probably have to pay £12-20m for him. If you can afford him, you should definitely recruit this star in the making.
