What is the role of a Physio/Head Physio in your staff roster?
Injury Prevention is a primary goal, but sometimes the bad news arrives in our FM inbox. That’s why physios help in the following way:
· Prepares a player’s readiness report for 90 minutes of fighting on the pitch;
· Determines the severity of the injury and the recovery time
· Facilitates the rehabilitation process after a justified absence.
Players who have been out of the field for a long time should gradually return to the game.
Don’t think that after deletion of status (INJ), the player can immediately go to the pitch. It is possible, but not smart! You need to work his condition to at least 75% before him contributing positively to the game. Also, his match sharpness cannot be achieved just through training, and it will be wise to gradually work his way into the playing 11.
Head physios are nothing but an in-charge for all the physios at the club. They sometimes provide player reports directly to you but their primary role is still the same as a regular physio. The main attribute you need to look for in a Physio is most obviously “Physiotherapy”, however, attributes like motivation, level of discipline & Determination are always important in any coach/staff that work directly with the players.
Here are some of the best physios in FM21;
· Juanjo Brau

· Jeremy Jacquemont
· Rob Price
· Grant Downie
· Stephan Weickert

Part of a sports scientist's role is to also conduct risk assessments of the players in your squad and your training sessions to determine how likely it is that injuries will occur. This can be helpful when you're planning your team selection ahead of a run of busy fixtures.
Sports Scientist also helps plan your training, keeping in mind the condition, recovery and injury proneness of a player. The Head Of Sports Science is responsible for sending reports regarding these analyses and manages his team.
The main attribute you need to look for in a Sports Scientist most obviously “Sports Science”, however, attributes like motivation, level of discipline & Determination are always important in any coach/staff that work directly with the players.

That concludes the article on how to search for medical staff and a small list of the best medical staff available at the start of the game. As mentioned, the medical staff could vary depending on the database selected, and you may end up finding better coaches as the seasons go by.
Also, keep in mind that you can have the best physios in the club, but if you don’t comply with a recipe “prevention is better than cure” you are making a big mistake.
