Five assistant managers for different levels of the game to complete your coaching set in Football Manager 2021.
Finding the right help, though, at any level, is tough. Here, then, are five suggestions that might suit different levels of the game.
Kevin Summerfield
Summerfield is a respected coach in the game who was a player in the 1970s through the 1990s. in his career, he played with the likes of Plymouth Argyle and Shrewsbury Town. He was previously part of coaching set-ups at various clubs, including Swindon Town, Plymouth Argyle, Tranmere Rovers, and most recently teams like Birmingham City and Derby County.
Definitely, a lower league appointment who could help you to find some prosperity. Got a good football brain, pretty all-round stats, and a good knowledge of the lower leagues in England especially.
Rodolfo Correia
Correira is the kind of Portuguese coach that you should consider bringing in if you want a touch more continental flair to your ideas. A keen football brain, he’s been around the footballing world with a whole host of teams. His most notable roles in recent times have been with the likes of Iran, where he served as an assistant coach in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
He also has had jobs in the Iranian domestic league, served as an assistant at Panathinaikos, and also has worked in the Middle East. An interesting appointment well worth considering.
Rene Maric
A personal favourite. Maric is a well-known name in Football Manager circles because he went from writing outstanding blogs on football to working with the likes of Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Monchengladbach. While getting him to move on from his partnership with Marco Rose might be a challenge, Maric is the kind of intelligent person you would want next to you if you are trying to build a top-flight team.
While you might need to do some convincing to get him, his tactical insights alone on opposition instructions make him a brilliant addition to any FM21 bench.
Pep Segura
Trying to build your own take on FC Barcelona? Then why not bring in a name who was once so influential at the club?
Pep Segura has been a major name on many FM databases; an intelligent man with a wonderful dossier of work at clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona. He would definitely add contacts, tactical nous, and a wonderful coaching brain to any club. You would likely need to be pretty high up in the football food chain to get him, but it would be money and time well spent recruiting an absolutely outstanding first-team coaching addition.
Wolfgang Beller
Outstanding name aside, Beller is a great coach to bring in if you are looking for someone with extensive coaching experience. He has previously worked with Schalke in Germany, as well as Stuttgart. He has a strong coaching resume and would make a fine coaching companion for you if you decide to manage out in Germany.
Definitely the kind of coach who you could enjoy working with in FM2021; a good man manager and someone who could handle most delegated coaching duties. Leaving you more time to focus on the tactical side of your team for matches to come.
