Here's our list of FM21 top 5 cheap strikers you might have missed and
should definitely look to sign for your team in Football Manager
2021.
1. Daniel Sturridge
· Current Value: 0
· Nationality: English
· Current Club: N/A
At just 30, Daniel Sturridge definitely still has a good few seasons in him. After being suspended for betting and eventually released by Trabzonspor, Sturridge is now available after serving his suspension. Sturridge has had a decorated career and was always a prolific goalscorer in his hay days. Still having decent stats in the game, Sturridge will actually be a star player for most mid/lower-league sides and can bang in plenty of goals. The best part about bringing Sturridge to your club is that he is available as one of the best free agents in FM21, it can't get any cheaper than that. Although you may have to handle his injuries with care, Sturridge can be a vital cog to any team he signs for, and his goals can even help you push for promotion.
2. Javi Puado
· Current Value: £925k
· Nationality: Spanish
· Current Club: Espanyol
Puado was once a part of the famed La Masia academy; however, he later moved to Cornella and eventually Espanyol, where he was given his senior debut. Having played a few games for Spain U21, Puado is a very underrated striker in Football Manager 2021. He is young, has lots of potential to grow and has decent well-rounded attributes to start off with. He is one of the costliest players on this list, though, and will cost somewhere around £3m-4m but is totally value for money for what he brings to the table. He will also develop into a very good top league striker in the future and can be sold for a big profit in the future if needed.
3. Branimir Hrgota
· Current Value: £425k
· Nationality: Swedish
· Current Club: Greuther Furth
The 3rd striker on the list is Branimir Hrgota from Greuther Furth. Once touted as an underrated potential, Hrgota had stints with several Bundesliga regulars like Monchengladbach and Frankfurt. He is also a former Swedish international. However, he currently plays in Bundesliga 2 and is a superb prospect for lower-tiered clubs. He is an excellent goalscorer and quite quick on his feet. Considering that he will cost just £400k, he is an absolute steal and can turn your season around with his goals. Hrgota is also in his prime and has a good few seasons in him. This is one player that you cannot miss if you are managing mid/lower league sides.
4. Havard Nielsen
· Current Value: £350k
· Nationality: Norwegian
· Current Club: Greuther Furth
The 4th player on the list is Havard Nielsen, once again from Greuther Furth. Once considered a top prospect from RB Salzburg, Nielsen has played for several top division clubs in his career. Nielsen was also a Norwegian international. Nielsen will cost you just £200k and represents amazing value for money. He is a work-horse and is an amazing pressing forward in Football Manager 2021. He is also a naturally fit player who will not miss many games due to injury. Like the others on this list, he can help turn your season around with his goals and industry. He is also a striker in his prime and can give you a few good seasons.
5. Matias Arezo
· Current Value: £1.4m
· Nationality: Uruguayan
· Current Club: River Plate Montevideo
The youngest and the player with the most potential on the list is Matias Arezo. He currently plays for River Plate Montevideo in the Uruguayan league. He is considered one of the best wonderkids in Football Manager 2021 and will develop into a top-class striker in most saves. Considering that he is readily available to transfer to even a lower league clubs itself is a surprise. What is even more surprising is that he will be available for his market value itself. At just 17, he already has enough quality to be challenging top strikers at lower leagues and will only get better with age. As suggested, he has the highest ceiling of all the players on this list and can be a long term solution for goals for any side he signs for.
Summary
While most players on this list are relatively unknown names in FM21, what they have in common is that they represent excellent value for their cost. They are also easily transferable to most mid/lower-tiered clubs and can be sold for a profit in the future or held on to as future stars.
