Squad, Formation and Tactical Style
There are quite a few tactical setups you could deploy with Fulham, however, the fluid counter attack is best suited to their squad of players. In home games, if the team is well gelled, you can perhaps switch to a vertical tiki-taka.
A 4-3-3 formation is best suited for the squad of players that Fulham have. However, you can easily play a riskier 4-2-3-1 or a defensive 3-5-2 or a 3-5-1-1 if you see fit.
A rough example of what your line-up would look like in a 4-3-3 formation is as follows,
Alphonse Areola as a sweeper keeper.
Michael Hector & Tosin Adarabioyo as the 2 centre backs with the latter playing as a Ball Playing Centre Back.
Kenny Tete & Joe Bryan as your fullbacks. It is ideal to let them not push too far forward in order to not expose your defence.
Zambo Anguissa, Harrison Reed & Reuben Loftus Cheek constitute the 3 man midfield. Anguissa as a Ball winning defensive midfielder, Reed as a box to box midfielder and Loftus Cheek as a Mezzala.
Ademola Lookman & Ivan Cavaleiro as the 2 wide players. Lookman to be played as an inside forward and Cavaleiro as a winger.
Alexander Mitrovic leads the line as a target man.
Fulham are a big squad and have plenty of options from the bench which can help you change your style of play as you see fit.

Key Players
1. Alexander Mitrovic
The talismanic Serb leads the line for Fulham and is sometimes the only source of goals. His 25 goals in the championship last season were one of the main reasons for the club’s promotion.
2. Ruben Loftus Cheek
Loftus Cheek is currently on loan from Chelsea. He oozes quality and can be one of the best players at the club. Keeping him fit will be crucial in helping Fulham avoid relegation.
3. Alphonse Areola
Another loanee, Fulham have the option to buy Areola at the end of his loan spell. Areola is a quality keeper and his performances will be key in surviving relegation.

Weaknesses
1. There is an overall lack of creativity in the team and goal opportunities can be hard to come by against good defences.
2. The overall squad depth is also quite average with the bench and reserve players lacking the quality required of the league.
3. There is very little room for changes in the transfer market and you will be left with gaping holes in the squad if your talent is poached by bigger clubs.
Potential Transfers (in)
Fulham have a weak squad and these players could help bolster the squad strength,
· Jonjo Shelvey
· Jan Bednarek
Potential Transfers (Out)
These players may be surplus to requirements at the club or may not be of the expected quality.
· Dennis Odoi
· Tim Ream
Youth Prospects
There are a few exciting young prospects in the ranks who have the potential to be impactful players in the league. A few examples are,
1. Tosin Adarabioyo
The youngster is already a crucial part of the Fulham squad and is one of the better defenders at the club. His aerial reach and heading prowess are an added bonus making a threat from set piece situations.
2. Fabio Carvalho
Currently a part of u23s, Carvalho is a fast winger who is tricky on the ball. He can be a big player for the club in the future.
3. Sylvester Jasper
Similar to Carvalho, Jasper is a quick winger who has the ability to play on either wing comfortably. He is also a determined individual who aspires to reach the very top.
Summary
To Summarize, Fulham have one of the weakest squads in the PL this season in terms of quality. Surviving relegation maybe a hard task to achieve even for veteran FM21 Managers. Are you up for the challenge and will you be the one who can help Fulham sustain in the Premier League?
