About the club
RB Leipzig are a professional football club that ply their trade in the Bundesliga. The club was founded very recently in 2009 when Red Bull GmbH purchased a 5th tier German side (SSV Markranstadt).
Board Requirements
Leipzig are in the UEFA Champion’s league this season as a result of finishing 3rd in the Bundesliga in 2019-2020 The board requirements once you take over will be;
1. Make the top 4 of the Bundesliga (Automatic Qualification into the UCL)
2. Make the QF of the DFB Pokal.
3. Make the knockout stages of the UEFA Champion’s League.
Additionally, the board will require you to play high tempo pressing attacking football with an emphasis on signing young players for the first team.
Leipzig have excellent training facilities & a superb youth system that churns out the occasional star. You will learn to depend on these and always keep them on par with the best in order to compete.

Squad, Formation and Tactical Style
Leipzig are a team that loves to attack and take the attack to most teams. They like playing a fast tempo game and overload their midfielders and strikers to get goals. A vertical tiki-taka or the gegenpress is the best-suited tactic for their set of players. They also occasionally play a fluid counter-attacking style of football in tougher games especially away from home.
A 3-4-2-1 is how they line up in real life and is probably the best-suited formation for their squad of players. This will let you overload the box in attack and help them sustain the pressure. Alternatively, you can also use a 4-4-2 if you prefer a 4 defender formation with a similar tactic but an extra man in midfield.
A rough example of what your line-up would look like in a 3-4-2-1 formation is as follows;
Peter Gulacsi as a sweeper keeper.
Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano & Willi Orban will make up the centre back trio.
Angelino & Lucas Klostermann as the 2 wing backs, both should be instructed to push further forward
Kevin Kampl to be played as a deep playmaker on defence duty while Christopher Nkunu to be played as a box to box midfielder.
Marcel Sabitzer & Dani Olmo to be played as the 2 attacking midfielders.
Yussuf Poulsen as the lone forward in a pressing forward role.
Alternatively, you can go with a 4-4-2 and make use of Kluivert on the wings.
