1. Valencia
Money is limited, key talent is up for sale, and the club's contracts are all over the place. Add in that you have potentially the most demanding fans in all of Spain, and building a legit title winner with Valencia is an incredible ask. With that in mind, you might wish to focus heavily on adding talent from your quality academy. Smart use of pre-contracts is vital, too.
Valencia are a big club, so you still have more pulling power than many other financially weakened clubs. That being said, you have much to do and little time to do it in; both board and fans want to see success and they want to see it yesterday.

Get it right, though, and you are restoring one of the most famous clubs in European history. Feyenoord fans are passionate but impatient, so expect to be under pressure if your bedraggled team does not start things off well.

3. Schalke 04
A poor first season in the 2. Bundesliga in 2020-21 has left the club skint, unbalanced, and with a joke of a playing squad. If you can get a tune out of anything you have, you are a better coach than you give yourself credit for. This is a squad desperate to be ripped up and started again from scratch.
Few clubs in Europe have the potential that Schalke have; few clubs in Europe, though, have their problems. Eye-watering debt, a squad full of poor players on big deals, and a very poor commercial department has left S04 nothing like the venerable giant that it should be.

4. Trabzonspor
You will have to be able to box clever, picking up cheap talent to develop whilst seeing your key players move on. The challenge here is that you have a massive club with a support who are craving a title win. You are expected to improve year on year whilst having precious few pennies to spend. This leaves you having to make deals, try out stop-gaps, and basically put together a team that can do the fans proud.
With so little to spend and so little opportunity to do it, though, you must make every decision count. Expect the pressure to be on from day one. Paired with a wantaway squad and owners who are keen to sell, and bringing the Turkish Super Lig title back out of Istanbul may just be your biggest ever achievement.
