Mendes had been with Sporting since 10 where he slowly worked his way up the ranks. He is regarded as one of the brightest talents from Portugal and has already been given his senior cap for the country. For the 2020-2021 season, he not only won the double with Sporting but he also was selected for the team of the year. In August 2021, he joined PSG on loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan.
