As we all know, the FM2022 updated database is now upon us, we have some pretty awesome changes in it. To help you build a new team in a new save on the updated FM22 database, we have put together a list of what we feel to be the best Midfielders in this latest edition of the FM 22 database. So, what are the best Midfielders that you could sign ahead of the 2021-22 season?

Who should you be on the lookout for if you want to transform your team and fulfil the dreams of your supporters?

 

Alex Kral – Spartak Moscow

Though the long-haired Czech spends the first season on loan at West Ham United, he is unlikely to stick around and thus should be available. An excellent screener who can sit in front of your defence, Kral offers a good, low-cost option and he has impressive potential. There is much to like about the holding midfielder, and he offers a great overall balance for any team looking to change things up and offer more height in the middle of the pitch.

His excellence is easy to see from his impressive mental stats, but it is his tireless energy that makes Kral one of the best options to look at for your midfield. Definitely available and if his West Ham loan flops as it has in real-life you should be able to get him from Spartak Moscow. Definitely one for mid-table European sides to consider looking into long-term.

 

Marc Roca – FC Bayern

The Spaniard might be hard to buy given he plays for such a giant club, but a lack of game time could soon solve this issue. Roca is a fine player, an excellent all-around talent and a great holding midfielder. He would make an obvious choice for any team looking to add a bit of extra bite and anger into the middle of the park. Definitely someone that we would recommend to any team looking to improve their lot and add a bit more energy into the middle of the park.

His natural aggression pairs well with his good reading of the game, making Roca a fine hire. Bayern tend to give him little game time so he could be available as early as the starting summer or the January of 2022. Either way, you should have no problem convincing Roca if you have European ambitions.

 

Oscar Melendo – Espanyol

It is rare that a player of this ability is available, but cash-strapped Espanyol should have no problem agreeing a deal with you. Oscar Melendo is a fine central midfielder, and he starts out on very available wages and terms so you should have no issue at all in landing him. He can play centrally and on the wing, and his natural technique and teamwork makes him a great addition to any team.

Managing a La Liga side with hopes of making it to the Champions League? Then adding a young 24-year-old with both present ability and the chance to develop is a no-brainer. You should be able to convince the Catalan club to sell due to their poor finances, making Melendo one of the best options for anyone looking for a proper bargain.

Ismail Moutaraji – SCC Mohammedia

If you want to buy a proper bargain player on FM22 then look out for young Moroccan midfielder Moutaraji. He is a great player with excellent overall ability, and would make a fine addition in the centre of the park for any top-flight side. He has great technique but he pairs that up with excellent work rate, making him a great modern midfielder. Available for a relatively small price, too, he is the kind of player that any club in a top-flight league in Europe should have no problem in convincing to join up.

Very much the kind of midfielder who needs time to grow, but once he gets used to your current league he should be a proper bargain. A high-class operator who has plenty of current ability but also ample potential to get even better. Definitely a midfielder to add to your list for any top-flight save.

 

Allan – Atletico Mineiro

Formerly of Liverpool, midfield playmaker Alan is one to look out for when you want to build a new and exciting midfield. He is the ideal choice as your midfield playmaker but can also thrive as a regista. A great reader of the game with tremendous technique and good set-piece taking, Alan would make a wise choice for any team looking for a bargain.

Mineiro are not in a great place financially so you should have no problem at all in convincing them to sell on the midfielder. For any team in Europe looking to build a side that can compete, Alan would make a lot of sense. He needs time to grow and adapt, but his natural vision and technique makes him a no-brainer in many sides. There is a reason he played for Liverpool, so be sure to keep a close eye on this Samba starlet!

 

Kevin Agudelo – Spezia

Colombia has become home to many high class central midfielders with excellent technique, and Kevin Agudelo is no different. Currently playing in Serie A with Spezia, he will not be easy to prize away but he could be worth the money. A highly talented player with excellent reading of the game, Agudelo has all of the ability that one would need for a young player.

The secret is overcoming his greedy streak and his lack of teamwork with good coaching. If you can round out some of his rough edges, though, his natural balance, technique, and playmaking make him a player worth putting the time and effort into improving. Very much a player who you should try and keep a closer eye on. Talent is not the issue, but getting him at an affordable price before he develops further should be the aim of the game here.
