This article lists what I believe are the Football Manager 2024 best wonderkids, forming an elite XI in FM24. I’ve limited this to players who I think would be easier to sign for another club, ruling out some of the true big dogs like Jude Bellingham or Endrick, but these players should also be attainable for another major club in FM.

GK - Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro - AZ

Representing the Football Manager 2024 best wonderkids in goal, Owusu-Oduro is arguably the top choice under 20 and is set to become truly world-class within FM24. Pick him up at the start of the game, and you’ll have plugged one of the most important positions on the pitch for the rest of your career.

RB - Ivan Fresneda - Sporting CP

Having just made the move from Valladolid to Sporting, Fresneda will be one of the trickier players to lure away. After the first season, though, you’ll be able to get your hands on a fast, hard-working wing-back who’s more than capable of becoming an elite defender. He might cost a pretty penny, but he’s worth every bit of it.

CB - Martin Vitik - Sparta Prague

Over 192cm tall, strong and with great positioning, Martin Vitik has the potential to be a truly world-class defender. With the physical gifts that can’t be taught, Vitik’s technical shortcomings in heading and tackling can easily be overcome by good coaching. Watch out for him at set pieces as well; he’ll strike fear in the heart of his opponents in both boxes.

CB - Antonio Silva - SL Benfica

The first choice at Benfica, Antonio Silva, will only go from strength to strength. The complete defender already, Silva is excellent with the ball at his feet, and his range of passing from the backline makes him the perfect modern centre-back. If you like your defenders comfortable in possession, Silva is your guy.

If you’re looking for an attacking full back, Patrick Dorgu has everything you’re looking for. Pace, dribbling and crossing, Dorgu is almost better suited to being an out-and-out winger than a full back, but if you can work on his defensive shortcomings, you’ll have someone who can work the entire left side of the pitch with ease.

DM - Adam Wharton - Blackburn

Is there anything better than the sight of a deep-lying playmaker launching passes from the base of midfield? Not in my book. The ability to control the game from behind the midfield is a gift that showcases the game in the way it's meant to be played. Adam Wharton has this gift in spades. He’s not the most defensively-minded, but by god, can he control the game. The dream playmaker for your side.

CM - Alex Scott - Bournemouth

Another FM23 favourite, Scott, used to be able to be bought for a fraction of his true value from Bristol City. Now at Bournemouth, Scott is an exceptional attacking option in midfield and has the potential to suit up for England beside Jude Bellingham for years to come. Pop him in your midfield, and watch him dominate. He’s also homegrown for English clubs, which helps.

CM - Joao Neves - SL Benfica

Arguably the best mezzala in the game, Joao Neves is just the latest of a long line from the Benfica talent factory. Talented with the ball at his feet and an eye for goal, Joao Neves could well be the next generation’s Bruno Fernandes. Enjoy watching him arrive late in the box to apply the finish to a well-worked team move.

RW - Roony Bardghji - FC Kobenhavn

Easily my favourite player from FM23, Bardghji, has an eye for goal and the technical ability to create for himself and others. Set him as either an inside forward or an inside winger, depending on the players around him, and you’ll have a crucial component of your front three. He’s inexpensive - especially considering his unbelievable potential - but you’ll need to move fast. There’s always interest, and it's easy to see why.

LW - Andreas Schjelderup - SL Benfica

With a lot of similar attributes to Roony Bardghji, Schjelderup has drawn comparisons to a young Lionel Messi early in his career. After earning a move to Benfica, he’s been sent back to Denmark on loan for experience. A little more development, and he’ll be ready to set the world alight.

ST - Vitor Roque - Clube Athletico Paranaense

A skilled and well-rounded striker, Vitor Roque can play all across the front three. I believe he has the potential to be the very best player in the world, and after convincing him to leave his native Brazil, you’ll have one of the best prospects on earth in your club. He’ll score goals for fun, and I believe he’ll work particularly well with many of the other players on this list.
