This Football Manager 2023 challenge is a great way to get to grips with the football
landscape in Scotland.
Each of Scotland’s seven cities has at least one senior football club, and your job is to win a trophy in each of them. Obviously, with some cities, that’s easier than others (winning a Scottish Cup with Celtic or Rangers isn’t exactly challenging), so it’s up to you to plot a course around the country, picking up trophies as you go.
For this FM 2023 challenge, you’ll start with no badges or experience, but where you go from here is completely up to you. I’ve listed all of your options below, as well as the rules.
NOTE: While Clyde are historically a Glasgow club, I haven’t included them on this list as they are now based in Cumbernauld.

FM2023 Scottish Cities Challenge -Rules
1. You must win at least one trophy with a club from each city.
2. If a club is relegated, winning the league below DOES NOT count as a trophy. For example, if Aberdeen are relegated to the Championship and you take over, winning the Championship would not count as you winning a trophy in Aberdeen.
3. For the same reason, winning the Challenge Cup with a club recently relegated from the Premiership DOES NOT count as a trophy. However, winning the Challenge Cup with a club recently relegated from the Championship to League One or League One to League Two DOES count.
4. You may manage other clubs for a maximum of one season. This can be handy to boost your reputation or for a new challenge while waiting for a job in a different city to become available.
5. If you choose to leave a club without winning a trophy, you may manage in any city on this list. However, if you are sacked, you must manage another club in the same city before moving to another. For example, if you were sacked by Partick Thistle, your next club MUST be based in Glasgow. If you are sacked by all of the clubs in one city without winning a trophy, the game is over.
6. If another club is promoted from the Highland/Lowland league and is based in one of the seven cities, they are eligible for the challenge. For example, if Jeanfield Swifts are promoted to League Two, you may use them instead of St Johnstone for Perth. The club’s stadium MUST be based in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth or Stirling to be eligible.
