While Brazil might not longer be the dominant force in football that it once was, there is a very exciting crop of Brazilian wonderkids in Football Manager 2023. If you are looking to add a bit of samba flair and fun into your FM23 team, you might want to try and add the following young players. Given their precocious talent, you will have to pay through the nose, but the following five players are seen as the future of Brazilian football.

 

1. Morato – CB, Benfica

Already playing for a European giant in Benfica, you will need to do a lot of convincing to let SLB give up on Morato. He is seen as comfortably one of the most exciting CBs in the game, and at only 20, he can improve so much further. He has the kind of steel and technical balance that someone like Marquinhos brings to the table.

As such, he is seen as the perfect long-term replacement for someone like Thiago Silva. Out of all of the young central defenders in the database of FM23, Morato has probably the best blend of everything. He does not really have many weaknesses, and his strengths are so varied. This makes him a great player to have around the squad and to build around in general – if you can convince Benfica to sell-up, that is!

 

2. Riquelme – LB, Vasco de Gama

OK, so the name might throw some, but Riquelme is definitely Brazilian. He has everything that you could ask for in a young player, and at the age of 19, he is more than good enough to start playing football now. Vasco will have him in their team right away, but their lowly status in the Brazilian game and their poor finances means it should not be too hard to get them to sell up.

As one of the best young defenders in the database, you could find that Riquelme has some great opportunities to grow into your full-back of the future. He might lack the natural explosion of someone like Marcelo, but he is a very well-balanced player for one so young. It will take time and patience as he adapts to such a high level, but there is nothing to say that Riquelme cannot be extremely useful.

3. Nathan – RB, Santos

The infamous Brazilian attacking full-back is alive and well, and in Nathan, you could get the perfect partner to go with Riquelme above. He is a fine player and, at the age of 20, could already start getting regular game time for you at just about any level.

Nathan has a natural instinct to get forward, so his attacking traits are fine; it is the other side of the game he needs the most work. With some coaching and the right tactical setup, though, you can mask those flaws while he works on them to improve his game. Out of all of the young full-backs in the database of FM23, Nathan is arguably the most forward-thinking out of the Brazil setup.

He has everything that you would expect in a young wing-back, and with some time and patience could develop into something special.

 

4. Kayky – RW, Pacos de Ferreira

A very interesting young player, Kayky is seen by many as the next in line for the infamous Brazilian dribbling machines. He has all of the skill that you could hope for in a young player. He has flair, confidence, pace to turn, and great overall technical skill. While he is a bit of a non-entity when it comes to the defensive side of the game or pressing the opposition, he has a natural desire to work hard and thus can be turned into a proper all-around player.

Another one who will need your patience, but it is patience that is well-earned. Kayky has just about everything you could ask for from a young attacker. If coached right, he could become the face of even the biggest clubs in the world thanks to his natural ability and his fearless nature when attacking opposition full-backs and defences.

 

5. Endrick – CF, Palmeiras

When you are starting upfront for the best club in South America, it says a lot. Endrick is in a position where at only 15, he is scoring goals for a team that has won domestic and continental honours for several years in a row. He is their crown jewel, and the fee that you pay will reflect this.

Out of all of the young talent in the FM23 database, though, arguably nobody matches up to Endrick. He has a natural level of skill that is hard to fathom, and he could easily be one of the next young generation of superstars. If you have the money and you are a big enough club that you can convince a player to leave a giant like Palmeiras, buying Endrick is a no-brainer.

He is arguably the #1 prospect in world football, and there is a reason that the youngster has a queue of elite clubs in Europe waiting to throw money at him hand over fist.
